My first blog entry- Another beautiful homebirth

Still basking this a.m. in the glow of another beautiful home birth. Visions of the late afternoon sunlight streaming through the bedroom window, illuminating mom working with her baby to bring her down and out and into her arms. Dad cuddled behind her, supporting her as she pushed. The sounds of the chickens singing quietly in the yard...the smells of the homemade applesauce drifting up the stairs to mom's retreat. The peace and joy on baby's arrival, safe and warm and loved, never leaving mom's arms. Grandmas and aunts and a special friend present to witness the discovery of baby's gender. Quiet respite after; time to reflect; time to nurse; time to give thanks. What a blessing.
