Brief Update on Donations for the Dominicanas

I brought a total of 250 pounds of donated goods to the Dominican Republic!!! What had been described to me - women laboring in a common room on bare plastic mattresses, etc., turned out to not be even half the story. I'll give a complete history when I arrive home, but I can't do it now. You WILL want to come back to learn about what the conditions are here. Nothing I had read anywhere on the Internet - or had heard from others who had served as a midwife in other third world countries prepared me for this.
For all those who gave (to those who donated money via Paypal - your donations were used to pay to take the three extra checked bags at $100 per bag - I couldn't have done it without you) (to those who gave "goods," you can't believe what a blessing your gifts were - I will post a few photos when I get home), each and every gift improved the plight of the poor Dominican women we worked with.
Please continue to pray for me, as several of the missionaries where I am working this coming week (I've arrived on the North side of the island today to work with the Family Mission Team from Fairfax Church of Christ) are suffering from Dengue Fever......(and obviously, please pray for the missionaries - they are all past the worst of it, but they are still very weak and covered with rashes....
Love to all and know.......KNOW that you are RICHLY blessed.
